READER REVIEW“The writing is so clear & even though the story is about going through a multiply traumatic, extraordinarily difficult time, it manages to be inspirational & uplifting. Mindy's tone is steady, clear, unflinchingly honest, without a note of self-pity, (which honestly, I feel like she would deserve to feel, even a little bit,) but she is courageous, compassionate, resourceful & goes from surviving this ordeal to becoming a source of information & support to others, from the nonprofit she starts, to speaking to government, participating in research trials. Just amazing. I learned so much about ALS, having a challenging time as a parent w a teenager, grief, multiple family members with life-threatening medical issues.”
